ANDRÉ BELGRAND

Bio

Light manager

After a CAP as an upholsterer, dozens of odd jobs and a short career as a singer-songwriter within the group Commun Désir, he met Guy Lefebvre, Director of the brand new Espace Culturel de Chassieu Le Luminier and joined the team in 1990. for an adventure that will last 18 years.

It was while working as an assistant to Marc Chikitou on the creation of Patrick Kabakjian, The sleepless city of Jean Tardieu that he discovered the light and the desire to create in his turn. The opportunity will be given to him in 1993 by Patrick Kabakjian on a new staging of another play by Jean Tardieu, Son of Nothing, the premiere of which will take place, in the presence of the author, at the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris. The following years will be punctuated by many light creations, around thirty, for dance, music, theater and above all, beautiful encounters: the mime Marceau, Fred Mella, Pierre Etaix, Claude Nougaro, Mouloudji, Annie Girardot, Georges Moustaki and so many others.

And also, in 1995, Nathalie Delecroix, a young choreographer from Lyon who had just created the Antares company. Their collaboration has lasted for almost 20 years and 8 shows, including My Grandmother Carmela which has been performed throughout France for more than 8 years.

In 1996 he met Romano Zanotti and created the light for the world tour of the group Los Machucambos and in 2003 that of the show Napoli. It was also in 2003 that he crossed paths with Jean-Claude Guerre and the group Itinerance. Beginning of a great collaboration that will continue with lots of great projects: the En Grangeons La Musique festival, the shows D’un Monde à l’Autre, Magic Iti with Abdul Alafrez, Musiques pour Buster, Et Hop! Bach Hip Hop... May the adventure continue for a long time and may the most beautiful projects be yet to come!

"The first time I heard their music and I knew I was going to work with them, I immediately understood that the adventure would be great. These four guys are the ball. Talented, sincere, humble, honest. Roaming, I walked through your alleys ball in mind, my heart filled and drunk with happiness. Roaming... there is hardly anything better."

(In poetic tribute to Bruno Teruel, Fabrice Bihan, Joris Garnier and Jean-Claude Guerre)
