CATHY DUPUYS

Cathy Dupuys lives in a small village at the gateway to Beaujolais. She is a storyteller, for all audiences. Her training as an educator of young children and her work with toddlers in nursery for 10 years allowed her to become imbued with a particular sensitivity.

For them, she knits tailor-made stories, awakening the 5 senses.

She makes puppets (heads in wood pulp dressed in fabric), which she uses as a support for stories, nursery rhymes, songs. Each of the characters has their own story, their own universe, their grain of madness and wisdom. The puppet is a superb tool to enter into communication with the other. Children are sensitive to these funny and mysterious characters at the same time.

She trained in storytelling with Sam Cannarozzi (1991), Les conteurs de l'Atelier de la rue Raisin (St Etiienne, 2011 and 2012), Luigi Rignanese (2013), Anne Lopez (2014), Françoise Danjoux (2013 in 2016), Olivier Ponsot (with Les Fygues in Vériel). She participated in a "voice improvisation" workshop for 4 years with Marie Rubens (Rhône); to "body and voice" workshops with Maryse Chouvellon (2015/16) and to a "clow and storytelling" course with Colette Migné (2016).
