STEPHAN MEYNET

Bio

He encountered the theater in high school alongside C. Damidaux and S. Mongin (Cie Les 3 Huit). Actor and self-taught director in the student troupe Arthémis since 1994, he created the university festival Les Arthémiades in 1997 and trained at the Théâtre de l'Oseraie in Lyon for 3 years, alongside M. Dufour, C. Tarry and S. Puel.

In parallel, from 1995, he led various workshops at the University of Lyon1, then joined the Cie Bath'art as an actor and lighting designer. He worked as stage manager of the Tête d'Or theater then abandoned his scientific studies for a degree in theater studies (followed by a master's degree), before being hired as general manager and then technical director of the Théâtre de l'Astrée.

He perfected his skills alongside P. Clément, H. Daguin (Théâtre de l'Iris), F. Maimone, participated in the bocal (Cie la Hors De), and multiplied theatrical encounters. He follows various courses (clown, mime, voice) and creates at the same time the Cie, Kapibara, a festival on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse, then recovers the direction of the Théâtre de l'Anagramme. Since 2004, he has been supervising the training workshops there.

Finally, in 2007, he joined Nicolas Guépin, within Broutille et compagnie, under the various hats of actor, director, trainer, and technician. Stéphan is also lighting designer for G. Maimone, F. Maimone, A. Lopez.

His various encounters have taken him from the theater of Boulevard to the existentialism of Sartre, from contemporary comedy to the theater of the Absurd through epic and literary monologue. He likes to cover his tracks and likes elaborate and aesthetic scenographies as much as the work of a refined actor.

In 2013 he joined Compagnie Soleluna as light manager, assisted by Marie Vuylsteker, and created the light for Espérance, Thavmata and Le maître et le chanter.
