SYLVAIN LINON

Bio

Sylvain Linon, cellist, began his musical studies in Béziers in the class of Jean-Yves Poirier. He then joined the Montpellier CRR with Cyrille Tricoire where he obtained the Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) unanimously.
He then perfected his skills at the CRR in Lyon with Augustin Lefebvre before being admitted in 2011 to the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon in the class of Anne Gastinel and Édouard Sapey-Triomphe. In 2014, he obtained the National Superior Professional Musician Diploma with a special mention in chamber music. During his training, he benefited from the advice of Gary Hoffman, Sonia Wieder-Atherton, Luis Claret, Patrick Gabard, Ivan Chiffoleau and Fabrice Bihan during internships or master classes.

Passionate about chamber music, Sylvain is a founding member of the Arethusa Quartet, which was created in 2013 with which he won various prizes in various competitions. He will follow, within this ensemble, the teachings of the Debussy Quartet, Miguel Da Silva as well as the Quatuor.
Hermès, the Aron Quartett, Agnès Sulem, Yovan Markovitch and even Patrice Fontanarosa.
In parallel with his activities as a chamber musician, he has the opportunity to play regularly in various orchestras such as the Orchester Régional Avignon-Provence, the Orchester National de Montpellier or the chamber orchestra "La Filature Orchestra".
Also interested in the meeting of different artistic expressions, Sylvain Linon joins forces with dancers and actors for different creations.
